FANS of golf and racing should mark down Friday, May 4th as a day to enjoy both sports.

Iain Kelly is organising a four-ball team charity golf day at Greenacres Golf Club on the Ballyrobert Road out of Ballyclare in aid of the Jonjo Bright Trust and will do his best to ensure that those who wish to head on to the Viva Las Vegas Race Evening at Downpatrick will have a suitable tee-off time.

With sponsorship from P & O Ferries, the outing costs £100 per team and there will be prizes for the first, second and third-placed teams as well as for the longest drive.

Play gets under way around noon, there will be tee-offs every 10 minutes and, to make sure you don’t get hungry once started, there will be coffee and bacon rolls before you hit a ball in earnest.
