TODAY’s Magners Ulster Derby at Down Royal will be televised live on BBC Two Northern Ireland and on BBC Radio Ulster.

Gavin Andrews and Sarah Travers will front the television coverage of day two of the Summer Festival which takes in three live races including the feature at 3.45pm. The progamme starts at 3pm.

Joining the presentation team this year is Chanelle McCoy who will introduce viewers to the style, glitz and glamour of the best dressed lady competition which has a fantastic prize of a three-night stay in Miami and a seven-night eastern Caribbean cruise.

Richard Pugh and Niall Cronin will be in the commentary box and Johnny Murtagh will cast his expert eye over the field.

Reporter Rick Faragher will also give viewers a flavour of the atmosphere at the event as he mingles and chats to racegoers, celebs and guests in the paddock and stands.

The programme will take viewers on an aerial tour of the Down Royal track and give an insight into the various aspects of the sport with visits to Goffs, a local saddlery in Co Antrim and a Hillsborough veterinary practice dedicated to equine dentistry.

On BBC Radio Ulster, Saturday’s Summer Club will be broadcasting live from Down Royal. Grant Cameron and Michael McNamee present the programme, starting at 3pm, which includes live commentary of the Magners Ulster Derby.
