MANY, many apologies to Colin McKeever as, in last week’s column, I credited his position as trainer at Loughanmore to another Colin, who I mysteriously moved away from his base near Comber.

Before I submitted my copy, I must have read the piece about 10 times but just didn’t see the error. I was alerted to the fact on Sunday by an associate of the second Colin and, as you can imagine, I had a little more than “oh dear” to say about the matter.

While wishing the Co Down Colin well over the winter months, I hope Colin MCKEEVER sends out lots and lots of winners from Loughanmore or that all the horses are well sold in advance of running so that we can refer once more to the great Loughanmore graduates.

I didn’t notice any former inmates winning this week but did see that She’s A Star, who was bred by Colin’s brother, Christopher McKeever, won the mares’ maiden hurdle at Listowel on Monday for the Noel Meade yard on her first start over jumps.

The Well Chosen four-year-old, who had two runs in bumpers, winning on her debut at Down Royal in early February, is the first foal out of the Luso mare Lobinstown Girl who comes from the family of Alexander Taipan and Anzum.
