THE Brosna Foxhounds, who are set to race at Durrow next Saturday and Sunday, first staged a point-to-point at the Co Offaly venue in 2002 when it was just a one-day fixture.

It was still so in 2008 when there was an eight-race card on Sunday, March 23rd, with the five-year-old and upwards mares’ maiden and the eight-year-old and upwards geldings’ maiden being divided.

There were doubles that afternoon for Robbie McNamara and J.D. Moore with the latter landing both divisions of the older geldings’ maiden while also riding three second-placed horses during the afternoon.

TWO-DAY FIXTURE

The hunt decided to go for a two-day fixture the following season and have continued to do so since then.

There are a number of maidens advertised on next weekend’s card although there is a mares’ winners of one on the Saturday and a winners of one on the Sunday when there is also a ladies’ open.
