Wonwabbitwon has an absence of 106 days to overcome but his two runs this season make for good reading. He began his campaign with a third to the smart Napa Valley in a decent Leopardstown maiden over a mile and next time he had to settle for eighth behind Delphi, but seven of the eight horses who finished in front of him that day have won since.

Roundel showed up well in a Galway maiden to chase home The Rain King and he again indicated that a maiden victory was within his reach when beaten just under two lengths into third by the classy Fiscal Rules at Cork last week.

A chance is taken on Alex D despite the fact he has a poor draw to overcome. This son of Oasis Dream might enjoy easier ground and he has first-time blinkers to aid his cause. In addition, some of his early-season form, such as his third to Lucky Vega in a Naas maiden, would make him a compelling choice.

The Ballydoyle representative, The Piano Player, could make his presence felt on his debut. He is a son of No Nay Never and out of a Duke Of Marmalade mare whose family goes back to that of the Prix du Jockey Club winner Blue Canari.

Breaking Story is without a win since he made a successful racecourse debut at the Curragh in August 2018 but he deserves to get his turn. Notably this season, he has shown up well on testing ground a couple of times, finishing sixth to Current Option at Galway before then taking third in the Irish Cambridgeshire. If he can match those efforts he might just be the one to beat and he is preferred to Auxilia.

She has yet to add to her two-year-old maiden win at Naas last August but has run some decent races since then and her second to Champers Elysees in a Galway listed race followed by her fourth to Bounce The Blues in a stakes race at Navan entitle her to maximum respect.

A switch to testing ground at Galway last month seemed to make a big difference to Lottieloveheart who posted a much-improved effort to get to within a neck of Khafaaq. She retains the visor that she wore that day and on similarly testing ground, there is every reason to believe that she can mount a strong challenge for victory.

The vastly experienced top-weight Count Of Carabass is feared although he is searching for his first win on turf for two and a half years. He indicated that he would be able to add to his tally when he was a close fourth to Hell Left Loose at this track last month.

Unconscious Mind is bred to relish these conditions and she showed signs of returning to form when finishing fourth in a Fairyhouse claimer last week. On several of her best efforts, she is lining up with a definite chance.

Accessory is switching to testing ground from Polytrack but that isn’t a huge concern as many of his sire’s offspring tend to come into their own when the ground gets testing. He struggled to make an impact initially but wasn’t beaten far in a Cork handicap last month, and he then ran very well to finish a close second to Chagall in a 1m handicap at Dundalk last month.

Dance Jupiter can get off the mark for the season. He didn’t enjoy much luck in running when second to Teed Up on his return to action at Galway last month and he again met traffic when having to settle for third behind Carrytheone in a good one-mile Curragh handicap a fortnight ago.

A repeat of either run is likely to suffice and he can see off the four-timer chasing Sheer Bravado who won at Tipperary and Killarney last Saturday and Sunday. This gelding is progressing well but he is in deeper waters now and has gone up two stone in the weights as a result of his recent progress.

The listed third Flaming Moon and the Irish Cambridgeshire runner-up Quizical add further interest for what looks quite a strong handicap.

Dreal Deal is tipped in the belief that he can transfer his recent progress over hurdles back to the flat. This gelding landed a huge gamble when bolting up in a two-mile–six-furlong handicap hurdle at Navan last time. He has to contend with a vastly different test here but, on his last flat outing, he wasn’t disgraced over an inadequate seven furlongs and now that he moves up to this trip, he could take beating.

A Place Apart pulled up over fences last time but form such as his third to El Tren in a Navan handicap in August entitle him to respect.

This could see Vita Veritas add to her tally. She won a Killarney handicap over this trip on testing ground in August and indicated that she could add to her tally when finishing second to the progressive Na Caith Tobac at Navan on Wednesday. She is preferred to Annie Pender who comes here off a hurdling success at Listowel. She hasn’t shown much on the flat, is likely capable of better and may show it today.
