This colt finished in midfield in the maiden won by the impressive Woodford General but he shaped up well for much of the race having travelled notably easily on the outside of the field before giving best approaching the final furlong.
He left the impression that he could progress a good deal from this and he will be worth watching out for when he returns.
Scorching Heat

Formerly a 90-rated sprinter at his peak, this six-year-old has struggled has struggled since coming to Ireland. However, he has shown promise on occasion and he showed lots of dash in sprint handicap on Monday before his front-running exertions took their toll over the last furlong and saw him fade to ninth.
He has been dropping down the weights and he might just take advantage of his slide in the ratings over the coming months.
Elusive King

On just the third outing of his career he posted quite a decent effort to finish fifth in the Madrid Handicap.
After looking on from the rear for much of the race he finished out quite well over the last couple of furlongs and looks more than capable of bettering this form over the coming months.

The mile maiden won by Russian Emperor should produce its share of winners over the course of the season and one likely future scorer is this Lope De Vega colt who made a most encouraging debut to be beaten by just a short-head into second.
In due course, he appeals as one that could be able to hold his own outside of maiden company.

This son of Lawman also contested the maiden won by Russian Emperor and he ran well to be beaten by less than two and a half lengths into sixth.
Evidently he was expected to run a nice race having been backed from 10/1 into 11/2, and he caught the eye with how he cruised into contention in the straight before then giving best. It shouldn’t take him long to make his mark in a maiden.
