Rocco Storm

(C.A. Murphy)

Naas, February 13th

He pulled up at Limerick over Christmas but had previously shown some promise in his first three maiden hurdle runs, and he again suggested that he could be placed to advantage when finishing a close fifth in a handicap won by Fou Diligence.

He finished well from off the pace and with a clearer run he would have been even closer. A similar race can come his way.

Agape

(P. Roche)

Naas, February 13th

This daughter of Epaulette attracted some support for her debut in a four-year-old bumper last Saturday and shaped like a filly who can make her mark in this sphere over the coming months.

She eventually had to settle for fifth but she would have been closer with a clearer run and she appeals as being able to progress well from this outing.

Fredastare

(A.J. Martin)

Thurles, February 15th

He struggled to make an impression on his first three maiden hurdle runs but took a step in the right direction when finishing sixth to Bal De Rio on Monday.

This may not have been the strongest of maidens but he showed that he could be worth watching out for when connections move him into handicaps.

Spanish Present

(P. Cashman)

Thurles, February 15th

This gelding was comfortably held on his only point-to-point start in the autumn but his racecourse debut was much more encouraging and yielded a good second to the impressive Cool Jet in Monday’s bumper.

The winner was being spoken of in terms of Cheltenham afterwards which would put Spanish Present’s five-length second in a positive light and he can surely progress again from here.

Keep The Receipt

(J.F. Levins)

Dundalk, February 17th

This sparingly campaigned five-year-old was making just the third appearance of his career when contesting the claimer won by Comin’ Through.

After racing too freely he finished ninth, but he shaped better than the final result would suggest and his two previous runs have hinted at ability.

He could be of interest when he moves into handicaps.
