IT was a big day for Nurney, Co. Kildare rider Ryan Sexton who rode the biggest winner of his fledgling career last Saturday when he teamed up with Jason Harris to take the feature event, the Sean McEniff Memorial Race on Not Today.

They were adding to their win in the non-winners’ race, the previous Saturday in Carrickadawson.

Ryan brought the winner through with a smooth run to take up the running three furlongs out and the winner stayed on strongly to come home five lengths clear of Movina’s Boy.

Having missed most of last Saturday’s northern region meeting and Sunday’s midlands region meeting, Dylan Browne-McMonagle made up for lost time with a five-timer in Bundoran, four of those share with the all-powerful stable of his uncle, Adrian Browne.

Five Stone Of Lead opened Dylan’s account in the 14.2hh race as he won with the minimum of effort following Nice + Steady relinquishing whatever chance he had by running very wide into the straight the first time.

Browne-McMonagle teamed up with the Laird stable to take the mile race as Thunder Struck dictated affairs from the front to see off the Robert Whearty-ridden Lisa’s Fancy.

Ya Skitter took the 15hh race coming through from the back of the field to lead two furlongs out and drawing four lengths clear while Let Him Go made virtually all of the running to take the race for horses that have not won this season, with Dylan keeping enough of his sleeve to see off former Dingle Derby winner Ida’s Dream.

The five-timer was completed in the 14hh as Unhinged never gave his supporters a moment’s concern with The Blacksmith and Rory Mulligan chasing them home, attempting what was an impossible task for a pony that is eligible for 13.2hh races.

As was the case the previous week, both Paul and Dara McGill made a visit to the winner’s enclosure.

The opening race of the day was over two miles and as they entered the final stages it looked as if Sam Ewing and Tell Ya Nothing looked ready to pounce on the front running Cool The Jets.

However, Cool The Jets answered every call from his owner/trainer/rider Paul McGill and they lasted home to win by a head.

Dara McGill took the 10-furlong race on Shay Quinn’s Ballyhacket Boy as they got the better of the Luke Turner-ridden Remix in a driving finish.
