THE Banbridge Action Cancer Fundraising Group extended a massive thank you to Barbara Hanna from Derryraine Foaling Services as she recently purchased 120 pink-wrapped haylage bales from Joe Martin, Dromintee, and, between them, they donated £1 per bale to the local charity.
Joe is a member of the Cocomo and Utr Syndicates who have half a dozen horses in training with Sammy Wilson, while Barbara is well-known among both the thoroughbred and sport horse worlds. She also grows wonderful sweet pea.
In 2014, Action Cancer screened a record 10,000 women in Northern Ireland for breast cancer.
These screenings are free to the public, but each screening costs the charity £80.
The Big Bus brings this service to over 220 locations across Northern Ireland every year, including workplaces, schools and community organisations.
Services provided on board The Big Bus include digital breast screening for women aged 40-49 and 70+, MOT health checks for both men and women along with health and lifestyle advice
