GALWAY ON TWITTER

Aubrey Mc Mahon @AubreyMahon

Like to thank everyone for all there kind messages yesterday. Special day, it doesnt get much better. I had an absoloute star of a horse in Uradel to have been in partnership with all the way. We will enjoy this one again!!

Richard Farquhar @RCFarquhar

Surely can’t have been many finer training performances from @WillieMullinsNH than Riven Light at @Galway_Races. To win in a hack canter off 108 from the outside stall off the back of a 290 day break, following a career threatening injury is, even by his standards, remarkable!

Neill Dennehy @Neill_Dennehy

I remember the 06’ Cheltenham where we had 6 or 7 winners all by different trainers. We’ve the best horses in the world in Ireland now, failed jumpers like Riven Light that wouldn’t be out of place in the Sussex today, but it’s at a cost.

Declan Rix @HawkWing2002

Fair play to Willie Mullins and his team, getting Riven Light back like that after the horrid journey he’s had takes some doing. May as well go and take on Winx as originally planned now.

Tony Keenan @RacingTrends

One of Ballycasey’s best ever runs came then he beat Ball D’Arc on soft-heavy at Fairyhouse.

Winning on heavy at Gowran was decent too. Just save all the messing and ‘will he, won’t he’ nonsense by not declaring the horse in the first place but please don’t use the ground excuse.

Joe Moloney @JoeMoloney6

It makes sense that the progressive horse gets into the race. A fine should have been given to the connections of Ballycasey. End of.

Steve C @racingsteve

Hopefully the question was asked if Gordon Elliott had trained the well punted favourite/first reserve whether Ballycasey would have been allowed to take his chance? Irish stewarding is a mess in favour of the big trainers and this continues.

Just don’t believe the later race time on Galway Plate Day works. It really disturbs the rituals of the day. Just my opinion @Galway_Races #galwayraces2018 #GalwayPlate

Rob Kerr @RobKerr32

Huge Congrats @Markfishenright on winning the Galway Plate on Clarcam, brilliant ride then following up with a double @Galway_Races - on fire fella! - Keep on keeping on mate, you’ll get there.

Brendan @BrendanH3

Absolutely delighted for @Markfishenright. A pair of 33/1 winners including the #GalwayPlate. Fair play to @gelliott_racing too, given what Mark tells us here.

Saw something similar with @donoghue_keith last season & what Gordon did for him.

A sign of the true character of the man.

Mark Enright @Markfishenright

Wow what a day... thanks to everyone for all the messages sorry I haven’t replied to everyone yet... big thanks to @gelliott_racing @Jessica_Racing and there teams for making it happen

Johnny Ward @Ui_Maine

Between the Sussex winner taking a Grade 1 after 15 failed attempts at it and @Markfishenright scoring on two 33-1 winners, one of them in the Galway Plate – after the professional and personal battles he has had – not a bad day in racing for those who refuse to give up.

Mike Vince@halo_straight

Really delighted for Patrick Mullins. He was haunted for ages by what happened with Sharjah at Christmas. What a way to repay connections. #top class
