SILVERWAVE notched up a fourth group success when he landed the Grand Prix de Chantilly without being put under any excessive pressure by Pierre-Charles Boudot. Switched off during the early stages of the mile and a half contest, the five-year-old made a forward move halfway up the three-furlong straight before taking control with 100 metres left to run.

He defeated Talismanic by a comfortable neck with Apilobar third in front of the Qatar Prix Vermeille winner, Left Hand.

Silverwave is under the care of Pascal Bary: “The plan now is to try and win another Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud. I think he is even better than last year, more relaxed and easier. He needs to be held up for a late run and just loves Chantilly.”

It was the son of Silver Frost’s second Group 2 victory over the course and distance as he took the Prix Foy last September.

The other interesting performance in the Grand Prix was put up by Left Hand. “Things didn’t go well for her in the Corrida and she needed today’s race,” commented Carlos Laffon-Parias before adding: “She was giving weight to the other runners and we will now head for the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud.”

The conditions of the race were not in Left Hand’s favour.
