FARRIER Mark O’Hare had his first rides of the season at the Louth Hunt meeting in Tattersalls on Sunday with mixed results.

His first mount, the once previously-raced Fox In Sox, only got as far as the first fence where he fell in division one of the five-year-old geldings’ maiden but the Liam Lennon-trained Waltz Legend, having tried to make all the running, was just caught in the closing stages of the mares’ winners race, going down by a length.

However, the day ended on a very pleasing note for Mark as Livelovelaugh, who he trained and rode to victory for his wife Sara at Oldcastle in April on his only start between the flags, won the bumper at Punchestown. Making his debut for the Willie Mullins yard, the Beneficial four-year-old now runs in the colours of Susannah Ricci having been purchased privately following his Oldcastle success.

That five-year-old geldings’ maiden at Tattersalls on Sunday was sponsored by Eugene Kavanagh through the Gravediggers Pub in Glasnevin, Dublin. The well-known owner is a great supporter of the Louth hunt but, on a busy Sunday, couldn’t get to the point-to-point where he was represented by Amanda Larkin.
