12.25 ITM Stallion Trail Hurdle 2m
Wolf Prince should be able to get back to winning ways, having finished second in a Grade 2 hurdle at Leopardstown over Christmas. The four-year-old had previously been a very easy winner over this course and distance, so he will appreciate the return to this venue, as well as a definite drop in class.
Aramax was a winner in France for his previous trainer but looked held when coming to grief at the last hurdle in that Leopardstown race. He has plenty to do now in order to overturn that form with Wolf Prince.

Jazzaway probably has more scope for improvement than her main rival at this point in their careers, so is given the nod to be another winner for the Willie Mullins team.
A bumper winner on her racecourse debut in August, she ran respectably in a listed bumper on her next start, before showing promise on each of her runs over hurdles.
Strange Notions looks the chief danger to the Mullins filly as she has achieved a rating of 114 over flights. Having filled the runner-up spot twice to date, she only needs to step up a little in order to get her head in front.

Thunder Down Under really caught the eye staying on strongly close home in a better race at Leopardstown last time. On that occasion, the son of Fame And Glory looked to be crying out for 3m, so it is interesting he is stepped up in trip now. A former bumper winner at this track, he should be hard to beat here.
Alohamora caused something of an upset when overturning a well-fancied favourite on her most recent start. Although that came over fences, she looks well treated over hurdles and first-time cheekpieces are interesting on this occasion.

Blazer could represent some each-way value in what looks a particularly competitive renewal of this feature race. A gallant third in last year’s running, Willie Mullins horse has been well entered-up recently but makes his seasonal return here.
It is almost certain that this race has been his target for some time so he has to be respected. Avenir D’Une Vie was an impressive winner on his stable debut over the course and distance in November. A reproduction of that run would see him very much involved now, even allowing for the fact that the handicapper has reassessed him.
SELECTION: BLAZER

Chosen Mate looks the safest option in a decent looking race which could well throw up an above average winner. The seven-year-old as a decent handicap hurdler last year and showed plenty on his first run over fences behind Melon. As a former point-to-point winner, he has plenty of jumping experience which he can put to good use here.
Annamix arrived in this country with a huge reputation on which he has thus far failed to deliver. However, he wouldn’t be the first horse to show his true colours once faced with fences.

At The Acorn could be very well treated by these race conditions. A former point-to-point winner, he was placed in two maiden hurdles, before having three starts in beginners’ chases. A handicap mark of 116 could have greatly underestimated him and he shaped with plenty of promise on his handicap debut recently. Everything looks very much in his favour here.
Isle Of Destiny was an easy winner of a similar race to this at Down Royal recently so should be very much involved. However, she is certainly more exposed than the Tony Martin-trained selection so may have to settle for minor honours.

I Am Connect, a half-brother to a point-to-point winner who was just beaten in a bumper, may be the answer here. His owners have recently become involved with the Gordon Elliott yard and had a nice winner over hurdles last weekend. This five-year-old would not need to be anything out of the ordinary in order to make a successful debut.
The Priests Leap ran well to finish third on debut at Navan but will need to improve. To be fair to the horse, he is entitled to have learned from that experience so we may well see a better showing now.
