Good luck to Davy Condon who is facing neck surgery this month as he continues his long recovery from injuries sustained in a fall at Cork in August.

You may recall that Davy had no movement in his legs for 10 scary minutes after that fall from Flaxen Flare but thankfully he had ‘only’ suffered multiple vertebrae fractures. However, Davy told the Irish Independent’s Richard Forristal this week that a scan has revealed further damage to discs in his neck and it requires an operation. There is a chance Davy could be passed fit to ride by Christmas and we look forward to welcoming him back as soon as possible.

Megan queen of Yorkshire

Well done to Dublin-born flat jockey Megan Carberry, now attached to the stable of trainer Brian Ellison, on winning 2014 Go Racing In Yorkshire Apprentice Series. Megan receives a sponsorship from Go Racing In Yorkshire worth £1,500 in cash plus £500 in equipment from White Rose Saddlery of Malton.

She will also be able to take part in promotions with Go Racing in Yorkshire in 2015, helping to maintain her profile at what is a critical time in the careers of most young jockeys, while the public will be able to follow her exploits via a blog on the Go Racing in Yorkshire website.
