KILLIAN McCarthy originally from Middleton, Co Cork lives in Kill, Co Kildare with his wife Jennifer and their two beautiful girls Lucy (8) and Emily (5).

Killian is a son-in-law to RTÉ pundit, Ted Walsh and brother-in-law of champion jockey, Ruby Walsh and recently retired Katie Walsh and Nina Carberry.

It’s safe to say this amateur is in seriously good company, coming from a very prestigious stable indeed!

Killian has taken part in previous Corinthian Challenges. He is a veteran of this charity race series who has given up a great deal of his time to train for the races each year and raise much needed funds for Irish Injured Jockeys (IIJ) for which IIJ and the riders it supports are most grateful.

Speaking of his experience of the series so far, Killian said: “This is my third year competing in the event and I am looking forward to another successful and competitive series competing at all three of Ireland’s premier tracks. I was very lucky to ride the winner of the second leg at Gowran Park last year for Gordon Elliott which brought great excitement and a sense of achievement after training for the series all year, so I would love to ride another winner this year. The Irish Injured Jockeys need serious support annually and I’m delighted to be part of a group that will contribute the much-needed funds for this great cause.”

Killian works with SoftCo and praised his employer and main sponsor who he described as hugely supportive over the last few years while he has been taking part in the series.

Killian is Global Sales Director of the company a leader in mapping out business processes and solutions to achieve greater efficiency in the overall business process.

They pay particular attention to the finance oriented processes that are costly to manage and very paper intensive.

Killian’s job involves a great deal of travel so he is always at his happiest at home in Kill with his ladies by his side or riding out in anticipation of the next race of the charity series.
