12.40 Paddy’s Super Enhancements Maiden Hurdle (Div I) 2m

Patience Patience who shaped well on his hurdling debut last time may progress enough to be a contender. The son of Zoffany had been tailed off on his only previous start but connections decided to persevere so perhaps their loyalty will be rewarded. Make no mistake, this is a particularly weak affair, so even a reproduction of the Punchestown run could be good enough.

Portion Control makes her racecourse debut here so there is little to go on. Having not yet blotted her copybook she at least has that advantage over some of these rivals. It would be no surprise to see her involved at the finish.

1.10 Paddy’s Super Enhancement Maiden Hurdle (Div II) 2m

King’s Vow may need further in time but should be good enough to win this. A smart handicapper on the flat (rated 95,) he was last seen when fifth in the Irish Cesarewitch at the Curragh. His stable do very well with their runners in this sphere so it would be no great surprise to see him go in first time up.

Hurricane Cliff is perhaps unfortunate to bump into one here as he is a smart type in his own right. A maiden winner at Gowran Park earlier in the season he may have too much toe for most of these rivals but will certainly have his stamina tested by the O’Brien runner.

1.42 Paddy Power Onside App Mares Maiden Hurdle 2m4f

Majestic Maid can step up on her recent second-place finish at Punchestown by taking this prize. A smart bumper mare last season, she was pitched in at the deep end in graded company on her hurdling debut but after struggling there, ran much better last time. Clearly well regarded by connections, she can win this before moving back up in class.

Toor Hawk had been off the track over 600 days before a promising effort at Wexford on her stable debut. Absent since last March, she could be a danger if fully fit on this return from another break.

2.15 Paddy’s Rewards Club EBF Novice Hurdle (Listed) 3m

Goodbye Someday needs to prove his effectiveness over this trip but if doing so then he looks the most likely winner. A consistent sort over two miles all season, he takes a marked step up in distance now but his breeding suggests he should stay. Well clear on official ratings, he should prove hard to beat.

Young Ted has plenty to find at these weights but has no stamina issues to answer. The more of a test it turns into the better his chances of outbattling his perhaps more suspect rival.

2.46 Paddy Power From The Horses Mouth Podcast EBF Novice Chase (Grade 3) 2m4f

Heaven Help Us could be the answer in a very difficult contest to decipher. A smart hurdler last season, including when mid-division in the Supreme Novices’, she made a satisfactory chasing debut before showing the benefit of that experience at Fairyhouse. Now in receipt of weight from most of her rivals, she can provide trainer Paul Hennessey with another landmark success.

Trainwreck has more experience than most of this field and is a smart horse at his best. Although disappointing when last seen, on the pick of his overall form he is entitled to be a leading contender.

3.20 Paddy Power Cork Grand National Handicap Chase (Grade B) 3m4f

General Principle can provide the Gordon Elliott/Gavin Brouder combination with yet another big-race success. The pair teamed up to win the Munster National recently and look to have leading claims of adding a second “national” to their record. A former winner of the Fairyhouse highlight, this 11-year-old has dropped a long way down in the weights but showed at Naas last season that he retains ability.

Out Sam, a stablemate of the selection, is a former winner of this race. A thorough stayer, he thrives in these long distance handicaps where the emphasis is placed on stamina. He is likely to be staying on when others have cried enough.

Next best:<\B> Out Sam

3.53 WhatOddsPaddy Handicap Hurdle 2m

Dreal Deal will take the world of beating here carrying only a 5lb penalty for his effortless win during the week. With the handicapper having has his say in the interim, connections are forced to take up this engagement under a mandatory penalty. It will be a big surprise if he fails to make it five wins on the trot.

Young Dev is put forward as a token danger but in all likelihood this should be a one-horse race with the McNally runner appearing to hold all the aces once again.

Sit Down Lucy has been absent since Down Royal in March but may be good enough to make a winning return. The six-year-old showed plenty of promise when runner-up on that occasion and escapes any penalties. With her stable well capable of readying a horse for this grade she has to be respected under a significant jockey booking.

April’s Moon has a very similar profile to the selection and is making her second start now after a solid debut. Although no match for a runaway winner that day, she will find life easier now.
