THE Tattersalls Irish Guineas Festival is on next weekend, May 23rd-24th so the weather better get its act together and bring the sun out to greet expectant racegoers and fashionistas, who will descend on the course for racing and fashion magic.
On Sunday the fashion stakes vie with the track action, with the most stylish competitions running for both ladies and gents. The Irish Tatler K Club Style Icon competition, in association with Cullen & Co Jewellers, has a total prize fund of over €10,000 so it’s certainly worth planning your outfit to dazzle the judges.
The K Club in Straffan, Co Kildare will sponsor both the most stylish lady and best dressed man competitions. Both winners will bag themselves a luxurious break which includes two nights’ bed and breakfast for two people in a magnificent suite at the world famous golf and spa resort.
Winners will also be treated to dinner, with a bottle of Barton and Guestier wine, in the River Room Restaurant, a half day of pampering in K Spa, the resort spa at the K Club, and a round of golf on the Palmer Ryder Cup Course.
The most stylish lady will have a treat in store courtesy of Cullen & Co Jewellers, which includes a champagne viewing of its jewellery lounge and a whopping €5,000 to spend on a piece of jewellery of her choice.
Irish Tatler celebrates its 125th year in print and Norah Casey, publisher of Irish Tatler, will be one of the fashion judges assisted by Sharon Smurfit of the K Club, fashion designer Joanne Hynes, Alexander Fitzgerald, editor of Tatler Man and Anna Fortune of the Kildare Post.
The first 125 ladies who pre-register for the style icon competition online at www.curragh.ie get a goodie bag.
