On Thursday, we have Nautical Force in the King George V Handicap, Iceford in the Britannia Handicap and Reyenzi in the Hampton Court Stakes. On Friday, we have Zahrann in the King Edward Stakes and Siege Of Troy in the Duke Of Edinburgh Handicap.
They’re handicaps, so it’s going to be difficult, but I’m looking forward to seeing Reyenzi again. He ran well at the Curragh; he was a bit unlucky to lose, he ran around, so hopefully he’s learned a bit from it.
Zahrann was very impressive last week in Leopardstown and the King Edward is a nice race for him.
On Saturday, Songhai is entered in the Commonwealth Cup. We have Daamberdiplomat in the Wokingham, if he runs okay this Friday, and we’ll run Dakota Blue in the Golden Gate Handicap.
It’s nice to be going over there. I think the Irish handicap system makes it hard for you, but it’s nice to have nice horses running at a meeting like that. I think all of them will handle good-to-firm ground, and that’s why they’re going over there.

Cercene ran a great race in the Trial in Leopardstown, she ran a good race in the Athasi, she ran a good race in the Guineas, and she passed three in the last furlong in the Guineas. So, she deserves her chance in the Coronation Stakes.
We’ll probably never have a chance again so we’ll avail of the opportunity and hope she runs well.

I think Balantina will possibly run in the Albany. She won well at the Curragh. Ascot will be tough but she’s a nice filly, so hopefully she runs a good race. Another possible would be Sound Of Lightning in the Sandringham. Again, she’s a nice filly but they’re tough races and I’ll be hoping she runs well.

We have Gavoo in the Coventry Stakes and we have Tokenomics in either the Royal Hunt Cup or the Buckingham.
We’re quite hopeful for Tokenomics, to be honest with you. He’s going there in good form. He’s had one run this year, he won that well and we can’t wait to see him run. I’d be disappointed if he didn’t get into the Hunt Cup; that’s over a mile, but seven furlongs in the Buckingham wouldn’t bother me either. He goes on any kind of ground really.
Gavoo is in the Coventry. It’s a big step up but he ticks a lot of the boxes in that he’s very, very laidback and a lovely two-year-old. He’s got size and scope, and a lovely stride on him. He’s done nothing wrong; he was second at the Curragh and then he won. He clocked a good time at Listowel and the fractions were pretty good.
I’ve seen him work at home to a very high level and we’re hoping there’s more under the bonnet. We’ll roll the dice. He’s owned by some lovely people that bred him in the West of Ireland, so it’s a dream come true for them to have a runner. If he can be placed, we would be thrilled.

Independent Expert will be entered in the Kensington Palace on the Wednesday. She won at Naas on Royal Ascot Trials Day, so I’m going to give her a day out with the lads.
She won’t have much up her sleeve, but she won well the last day and a six-year-old placed in it two years ago. It’ll be a nice race for her over the stiff mile, on good ground, a fillies’ race.
Then we have Gleneagle Bay for the Buckingham Palace on the Thursday over seven furlongs. He’s our big bullet for the week. It was a shame not to get it done the last day in the Victoria Cup. That was the same track, same distance, same type of conditions, fast-run seven, so you couldn’t have a better prep run going into it. So, fingers crossed, he’ll be a live competitor in the race.

Cardiff By The Sea runs in the Queen Mary. She ran a good race in Naas first time out against the favourite for the Norfolk, Charles Darwin. Hopefully she’ll run a good race.
Bodhi Bear runs in the three-year-old five-furlong handicap, the Palace of Holyroodhouse Stakes on Friday. He should get in off a nice weight with his rating and should be guaranteed a run, hopefully. We’ll be hoping for a bit of luck to get drawn on the right side of things and all the rest.
Thesecretadversary runs in the Chesham Stakes. He ran well behind a smart horse of Aidan’s at Leopardstown on his only start. He seems in good order, his work has been very solid, so hopefully he’ll run well.
