It is terrible for racing fans that REBEL’S ROMANCE and GOLIATH have to travel the globe to compete because @francegalop is stifling competition by adhering to antiquated policy.
How is it a filly can run that is not tested to see if she is fertile but a gelding can’t run in the race? The Arc is not a Group 1 it is a restricted stakes race.

Both @ListowelRaces and @shelbournepark showed what can be achieved with slick and clever marketing. It underlined the importance of tradition and heritage on the sporting calendar. Listowel & Shelbourne Park were rewarded with huge attendances.

There are 93 days of racing up to the end of September from the start of the season. I wanted to try and ride as close to a winner a day as I could in that time. Today, on the last day of September, I hit 93 winners for the season (Bullseye emoji!)

Where have all the stayers gone?
This relentless obsession with speed is damaging the sport.
Only 3 runners entered for the G1 Prix du Cadran on Arc weekend.
Perhaps it’s time we looked abroad and learned from nations who are keeping the staying tradition alive. Worrying.
