So, I’ve done 90mins of Oasis just now at Murrayfield. It’s decent…..but folk putting it up there as one of the best nights of their lives has never had their balls on one leading, going over the last in the Supreme on day one of the festival. Now that’s a proper buzz!!!!

Seen a few moaning that they hadn’t heard of many of the jockeys in the Shergar Cup. That’s what makes it relatively good imo - having a team format with the same faces we see day in day out would be quite a tough watch. This works well as a one off.

You can sit at home at moan about the #ShergarCup but if you were here you would see what an amazing shop window it is for new racegoers. 1000’s of mostly young people dressed up in their finest, enthusiastically engaging with the racing, betting and having a lot of fun.

They broke the mould when Bill Turner was born. Handed nothing, and worked hard for what he had. Most jocks can say he gave them a leg up over the years. Dedicated to his profession and family, there never was, and won’t be another like him. True Legend.

Uncle Bill, what a man. When I first came to the UK it wasn’t easy to get rides, in fact it was near on impossible. Bill was the first man to really believe in me, gave me that chance and made me feel it was ok to lose. Thinking of him and his family

Tommy Murphy & Bill Turner, a pair of legends gone. Both proper gents. Tommy kept an eye on us kids in Ballydoyle & Bill was a really astute operator, not to mention loyal. Loved riding for him & dug me out of a hole once with Impala after nearly a yr (!) without a winner. #

They came in their thousands and packed the place out last night. Well done to all involved @KilbegganRaces & @RoscommonRaces
who both had tremendous crowds at their meetings this week. It’s great to see an enjoyable day at the races is still so important for Irish people
