Quality not quantity. Regardless of crowd numbers, credit where credit is due. The card may have been questionable but the atmosphere, the fun and the wonderful people racing today were on par with some of the best days in this sport that I’ve enjoyed. Onwards and upwards!

There were approximately 20K more people at the Irish Derby in 2005 than there were today. The Curragh is now a fantastic facility. it’s not being negative to ask why people have stopped going.

Irish racing is lucky to have Aidan and the overall message of positivity is one I won’t take from, but the issue of the new Curragh is that it’s been from day 1, built with the racing elite in mind and no sustained thought to the masses and casual race goer.

Oisin Murphy is a tremendous jockey, one of the best we’ve seen. An honest individual in interviews, but a man who is fighting his demons. Leave him alone, and let him overcome those demons.

Surely his second chances running out.
