FROM Wimbledon to Croke Park, Rachael Blackmore is still an A-list celebrity and she certainly did a lot more roaring and shouting at the hurling last Sunday than she did on Centre Court a few weeks ago.
Rachael was a guest of BBC Northern Ireland at Croke Park and the Killenaule woman was only too delighted to pull on the Tipp jersey and watch the Premier County lift the Liam McCarthy Cup.
Joining her in the premium seats were actor Paul Mescal and singer-songwriter Tom Grennan,
After Tipperary had come from behind to beat Cork, Rachael told BBC: “It just shows you what sport is and what can happen is sport and I think that’s just inspiring for everyone in any walk of life.”
Amid the wild celebrations, Rachael was asked what it felt like to see her county win. She replied: “I haven’t heard a word you said. Woooo!”
There is no truth in the rumours that Paul Mescal asked Rachael if they could recreate the infamous ‘Coldplay clinch’ for the cameras, though most women would not object!
