A TOTAL of 17 teams took part in the recent Owners & Trainers Golf Classic at Mount Juliet Estate Golf Club in Co Kilkenny recently.

Organised by the Association of Irish Racehorse Owners and the Irish Racehorse Trainers Association, the event raises funds for Treo Eile, the organisation which provides an invaluable platform for the retraining and rehoming of retired racehorses.

Among those taking part were teams representing Horse Racing Ireland, Irish Stable Staff Association, Irish Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association, the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board, Goffs, Punchestown, Coolmore, Willie Mullins, Mouse Morris and Eddie and Patrick Harty.

The winning team came from Oghill House Stud, who were followed in by the IHRB and Goffs. Other prize winners on the day included Helen Hartnett, Jack Galway (Punchestown team) and Terence Sheehan.
