Cloth Of Stars won the Group 2 Prix Greffulhe going away in great style at Saint-Cloud on Sunday and is now being aimed at the Epsom Derby.

The three-year-old colt, trained by Andre Fabre, will have to be supplemented for the Derby, run on Saturday, June 4th.

John Ferguson, Godolphin's Chief Executive and Racing Manager, commented from Saint-Cloud: "We are absolutely delighted with today's performance from Cloth Of Stars. I had a word with Andre afterwards and our thinking is to go for the Epsom Derby.

"We will have to supplement him for the Epsom Derby which is the same weekend as the Prix du Jockey Club, so everything depends on how Cloth Of Stars trains between now and then."

The supplementary entry stage for the Epsom Derby is on Monday, May 30th.

"Today's victory was over a mile and a quarter but both Mickael Barzalona (jockey) and Andre said the colt will be suited by a mile and half.

"Cloth Of Stars is also the kind of horse to act on the course at Epsom and improving all the time, winning going away today."

Mickael Barzalona held up Cloth Of Stars in the Prix Greffulhe and they raced in fourth or last of the five runners towards the outside, though not far off the pace.

The Sea The Stars colt was asked to progress entering the straight and went third with a furlong and a half remaining and continued to improve to second.

Cloth Of Stars ran on to lead inside the final furlong and went clear to triumph by two and a half lengths from old rival Robin Of Navan in 2m 3.70s on going described as good.
