BROADCASTER and former model Glenda Gilson is among the judges of the best dressed lady competition at Naas on Sunday, January 8th.

Sponsored by local jeweller Hugh Statham, the first prize is a Raymond Weil watch worth €2,600.

Fashion experts were on hand at the Lawlor’s reception this week to advise ladies to wear tights rather than bare legs and to dress appropriately for winter weather. “A burst of colour with a twist” was recommended to stand out, but importantly “be comfortable”.

The judging panel will also include Bairbre Power of the Irish Independent, Jennifer Stevens, Editor of Irish Country Magazine, and Anna Fortune of the Kildare Post. The four runners up in the fashion competition will also win a necklace each worth €250 from Hugh Statham Jewellers.

The day will also mark the first running of Naas Town Goes Racing, an initiative created by the racecourse to involve local traders and the business community.
