THE catalogue for the Tattersalls Ireland November National Hunt Sale is now online and hard-copies will be available from next Monday, October 19th.

The 2015 catalogue consists of 1,530 lots including 240 yearlings who will open the sale on Monday, November 9th.

Running from Tuesday to Friday of that week, 1,090 of the best National Hunt foals will be offered for sale. Last year’s sale saw 996 foals catalogued and the average price attained by the 718 foals sold was €14,000 (up from €12,700 the previous year). Over €10 million was spent on foals at this sale last year (up from €7.7 million).

The morning of Saturday, November 14th will see older horses and two-year-olds being offered for sale and that afternoon will be dedicated to the sale of National Hunt mares. The sale will commence at 10am each day.

The National Hunt Yearling Show, in association with the Irish Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association, will precede the November National Hunt Sale, on Sunday, November 8th.

All 240 yearlings catalogued are eligible for the show which has a substantial prize fund of €12,450.

The qualifiers for the championship will start at 11am on Sunday with judging of the championship at 2.30pm. The first prize for the leading colt or gelding is €3,000, increased from €2,500 in 2014. For the fillies, there is a first prize of €2,500, increased from €2,000 in 2014.

Nominations for the National Hunt Yearling Show close at noon on Friday, November 6th and can be made through the Tattersalls Ireland office.
