INSAYSHABLE justified odds-on favouritism in the www.gowranpark.ie Race to complete a Gowran Park double for trainer Ger Lyons and jockey Colin Keane.

The 8/13 market leader was sent straight to the head of affairs by Keane, who found a very willing partner through the early stages as he travelled strongly in front. Aneen got to his hind quarters on the turn for home, but he got no closer and Insayshable strode on to score by two lengths.

Less than two lengths behind eventual Irish Derby hero Capri in the Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial, Lyons is hoping for even more from his colt.

He said: "That was grand. I don't like making it (the running). He came back from the Derby Trial and was covered in ringworm, typical of a weak horse. When you get it in May you just have to be patient, back off and let him come to himself.

"He has a temperament to die for. He is a lovely quality horse.

"We will stick to the mile and two for the minute. He doesn't want it any faster than that. We will bring him home and see how he comes out of it, he'll improve for the run and we'll try and plot it steady, steady.

"We'd like to be thinking big for next year as opposed to this year. He is a horse I like. He could go for a Group 3 on Champions Weekend but he is ground dependent – if there is firm in the description he won't be running.

"We will treat him kindly, with a view that next year is the main deal."

Lyons and Keane's first winner came when 13/8 favourite Always Dancing just fended off Breezolini to land the first division of the Racing Again August 16th Handicap.

Always Dancing was originally first reserve for the contest and Lyons said: "That was grand. It doesn't normally work.

"I'd just like to thank John Murphy (trainer of non runner Compatriot) for giving me a heads-up this morning. We were going to bring her down anyway and take a chance that something might be out.

"It's nice to get it because she'll never be in that bracket again. She is pure honest. We've got two wins for the price of one which justifies the hike in the handicap. She was given a 14lb rise in total and had eight up her sleeve in that.

"I'm sure the handicapper will leave her alone now. We'll freshen her up now and move on."

ACROSS-THE-CARDS

Jessica Harrington completed an across-the-cards double in Ireland when Two For Tea boxed on well to land the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden.

The 6/4 favourite travelled nicely into the lead over two furlongs out under Colm O'Donoghue, but she still had plenty of challengers snapping at her heels entering the final furlong.

She kept finding plenty and kept her nose in front, eventually finishing three-quarters of a length ahead of the fast-finishing Dream Sleep.

That win added to Harrington's earlier success at Limerick when The Birdie Crowe justified odds-on favouritism in the Book Online At www.limerickraces.ie Mares Maiden Hurdle.

Mark Bolger sat just off the early pace on the 8/11 chance, before striking for home at the second last time and running on strongly to beat Joy's Gift by four lengths.

Bolger said: "She was probably entitled to do it after her run at Roscommon. She is a winner of two bumpers, jumps very well and won easy there. I imagine they'll have plenty of fun with her now.

"She has grown since last year, is stronger and a lot more mature and doesn't run as keen. There'll be plenty more to come from her."
