DISCIPLINE secured Listed honours in the Coral.ie EBF Naas Oaks Trial for Dermot Weld and Pat Smullen.

The full-sister to Weld's former grand servant Famous Name had only the two previous runs under her belt but served notice that she is a potential group race performer when beating all bar Bocca Baciata in the Victor McCalmont at Gowran Park.

Sent off the 9-10 favourite to go one better, she tracked leader Earring until being asked to go and win her race, although that rival wouldn't go down without a fight and Discipline had to work hard to get the verdict by half a length.

Weld said: "She is a lovely filly from a family that has been very good to us. She is a full-sister to Famous Name and there are two other half-sisters that have been major stakes winners for us.

"We will look for a group race next. There are no definite plans but she likes a bit of space between her races.Ten furlongs is no problem to her and if she stays a mile and a half it will open up more opportunities to her."

GROUP 1 ENTRY

Drumfad Bay made a successful start to her career in the Coral.ie EBF Fillies Maiden at Naas. The daughter of Acclamation is out of high-class racemare Manieree and fetched 200,000gns as a yearling, and holds a Moyglare Stud Stakes entry.

She was allowed to go off at 12-1 in a market dominated by Aidan O'Brien's experienced How, but showed a professional attitude once hitting the front at the furlong pole to repel the favourite by a head.

Her in-form trainer Jessica Harrington said: "Colm (O'Donoghue) said she was always travelling. It was her first run so she was entitled to get a bit tired in the last 50 yards.

"She's a very relaxed and straightforward filly. I'd say she will get a mile in time, and the Moyglare is definitely on the agenda."
