FOZZY Stack continued the bright start to his new training career as Onenightidreamed landed the Racing Again At Tipperary On April 20th Race.
The six-year-old, who won four times for the now-retired Tommy Stack, built on a placed effort at Leopardstown last week to justify 4/7 favouritism in the feature race of the evening at Tipperary.
Having tracked Dinkum Diamond early on, Chris Hayes' mount hit the front as they turned for home and saw off the gutsy challenge of Master Speaker with two and a quarter lengths to spare.
"It didn't suit him being in front but he was entitled to do that," said Stack. "We had to find a way to draw the sting out out of the others and he won snug enough in the end.
"He has been a great servant. He could go for the Amethyst Stakes at Leopardstown next if the ground is soft."
EXPERIENCE
Pecheurs De Perles put his experience to good use to land the Irish Stallion Farms E.B.F. Median Auction Maiden at Tipperary.
The Henry de Bromhead-trained gelding was making his fourth racecourse appearance and always looked to be going well for Wayne Lordan as they tracked Tommy Hallinan's move to the front off the home turn. The winner took it up from the 5/4 favourite just under two furlongs out and kept on well to hold the late challenge of Kendwar by a length and a quarter.
"Wayne thought the slightly better ground helped him today - he thought he got stuck a bit in Cork but I'm delighted with him," said de Bromhead.
"He should get a mile, if not a bit further. He's a grand big scopey horse and we'll see what we'll do next. I'm new to this (flat racing) and we have three three-year-olds and a few two-year-olds. We'll give it a go and it's interesting."
