FORT Del Oro collected her third victory at listed level in the Yeomanstown Stud Dark Angel EBF Stakes at Naas.

Despite conceding weight to the entire field, the Eddie Lynam-trained four-year-old was sent off the 10-11 favourite and travelled strongly in the hands of Billy Lee. She cruised to the front not long after halfway in the six-furlong dash but was going so well and when Lee kicked on, there was plenty in the tank for her to come home three-parts of a length to the good over Buying Trouble.

Lynam said: "She seems to be adaptable ground-wise. I was a bit worried about the ground but that's just me as I worry about everything. Anyway she got away with it, and has a bit of class. That's the last fillies' listed race over six or seven furlongs until 2017, and we could all be in Brexit by then!"

CARROLL DOUBLE

Mr Scarlet made it second-time lucky in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden at Naas.

Sheila Lavery's youngster was a promising fourth on his introduction at Fairyhouse and turned out again just 10 days later.

The 7-1 chance quickened well when asked to by Gary Carroll and ran right the way to the line to see off Mayleaf Shine by a length and three-quarters.

Lavery said: "I bought him from Joe Foley at Fairyhouse and paid more for him than I have for any horse. He's always been a very smart horse, and Gary said the last day that he would win next time. He's still fat and has loads more improvement.

"Gary said he put his ears back and really wants to race. He's got a great attitude and just eats and sleeps, hence he's fat!"

That initiated a double for Carroll, completed when Three Bells landed the Queally Group Supporting Naas Parish Community Handicap at 13-2.

Peacehaven has had plenty of chances but called upon all of her experience to justify 9-4 favouritism in the Grace's Pub Naas Supporting Naas Parish Community Maiden.

Johnny Murtagh's French import was always to the fore and Connor Ring drove her out to beat Nuala Tagula by half a length.

Fairy Foxglove (16-1) has been campaigned largely as a sprinter but proved her stamina for a mile by claiming the www.naasracecourse.com Apprentice Handicap.

ENDLESS DRAMA

Endless Drama stole the show at Naas with a performance of quality in the Follow Naas Racecourse On Facebook Race. Surprisingly given his class, Ger Lyons' four-year-old hadn't managed to get his head in front since his debut in October 2014. but made the frame in last year's Irish 2000 Guineas and in the Lockinge back in May.

The 1-3 favourite was dropped markedly in class for this assignment and the result never looked in doubt as he cruised up to challenge halfway down the straight before being pushed out by Colin Keane to a two-and-a-half-length defeat of General Macarthur.

Lyons said: "Everyone was expecting him to win and he's done his job. Colin said the ground was as fast as he wants, and he even hated it cantering down to the start. He's ground-dependent and does not want extremes.

"Colin is not keen to step him up in trip but the people that matter are. He'll go for a race like the Royal Whip next, with the ultimate aim of the Champion Stakes at the end of the year."
