Nearly Nama'd sprang a 20/1 surprise when landing the EasyFix Handicap Chase for the second time at Fairyhouse on Saturday.

Now trained by Austin Leahy, the nine-year-old won the race in 2015 for Sandra Hughes and was the outsider of four J.P. McManus-owned runners as he attempted to repeat the dose in the valuable contest.

Luke Dempsey tracked the leaders before challenging Some Plan and front-runner De Benno at the last and powering clear for a five-and-a-half-length success from the latter.

"He could come back here for the Dan Moore in January. He won it before. He did that well," said Leahy.

"I have him since about June. Sandra (Hughes) had him before and did a good job with him because he won this race and another valuable one here.

"Things are going well but I know the other side of things as well!"

Another former Hughes inmate Total Recall was also on the mark today when landing the valuable Ladbrokes Trophy over in Newbury for Willie Mullins.

Out Of The Loop (5/4 fav) carried the same colours to victory when proving three and a quarter lengths too good for Nobody Home in the Kettles Country House Hotel Supporting Fingal Ravens GAA Handicap Hurdle.

Youcantcallherthat (7/1) followed up her recent Cork success with another comfortable victory in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Handicap Chase.

Denis Hogan's runner did battle at the head of affairs with Magic Of Light for much of the way before forging clear after the second-last and crossing the line six lengths clear of the 6/4 favourite.

The Storyteller (11/4) beat Sutton Manor to give Gordon Elliott a one-two in the opening Jim Ryan Racecourse Services Beginners Chase

Livelovelaugh made a bold bid from the front but couldn't fend off the Elliott representatives and it was Keith Donoghue's mount that stayed on best to score by four and three-quarter lengths.

Discorama sprang a 66/1 shock in thrilling style in the Irish Racing Yearbook Maiden Hurdle.

Blow By Blow looked to be on his way to justifying 9/10 favouritism in front-running fashion but Paul Nolan's outsider motored home to get up by a nose in the shadow of the post.

Midnight Stroll (2/1 fav) completed a double when beating Didero Vallis by a length and a half in the Christmas Party Race Day December 16th Rated Novice Hurdle, while Willie and Patrick Mullins got on the scoresheet as Minella Encore recorded a half-length verdict over Narcissistic in the concluding Kettles Country House Hotel Supporting Fingal Ravens GAA (Pro/Am) Flat Race.
