SIRICI continued her progression on the Polytrack at Dundalk with victory in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Race.

The Fozzy Stack-trained youngster was second on her debut last month, before getting off the mark a week later with a comfortable success.

Sent off at 9/2 for her latest assignment in a race where the Aidan O'Brien newcomer Mount Wellington was the 1/2 favourite, Killian Hennessy's mount again accounted for Spirit Power, who could not make a 5lb swing in the weights count.

Hennessy, who has now lost his 7lb claim, said: "She put it up again. She's a tough little filly. To be fair to her she's only a small thing and up against those big colts I wasn't sure what to expect, but she pulled it out again.

"She has obviously improved again. She could go for a listed race next in York next month, she would be well up to stakes level."

KEANE TREBLE

Colin Keane was the man to follow as the jockey secured a significant treble. Keane's most noteworthy success came in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Race when 4/6 favourite Glastonbury Song looked the part with a two-and-a-half-length defeat of Asking.

The rider said: "He's after learning a lot and is after showing us what we thought he could do. He'll improve again from that. He's definitely a stakes horse. I'm not sure what calibre just yet, though. I think a better race will bring the better out in him."

Keane had earlier got off the mark when 5/6 favourite Rivellino won the Dundalk Stadium Business Club 2017 Claiming Race for Ado McGuinness. The jockey and Lyons then combined to good effect with even-money shot Harbour Beacon, who was a length and a quarter too smart for Shahroze in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Maiden.

Keane said: "He's a lovely, big horse. He's still very raw and green with plenty of improvement left in him. The season has started good and hopefully it continues."
