EIGHT Till Late reverted to fences to complete a hat-trick of summer victories in the Boylesports Handicap Chase at Sligo.

Peter Casey's nine-year-old was sent off 9/4 favourite for the evening's feature following a hurdles victory at the venue last month and took it up approaching the last fences after tracking pace-setters Round Tower and Catalaunian Fields for much of the way.

Andrew Ring's mount produced a good final jump but Presenting Mahler refused to go away and the winner was all out to repel his late challenge by half a length.

Ring said: "He has been a grand auld horse between hurdles and fences. He doesn't jump fences as well as hurdles. He tends to hurdle his fences a small bit.

"He is improving and had his ground today. He actually won better than the margin because he idled a small bit in front. He is going the right way and he is a pleasure to ride.

"He was going to go to Galway but bypassed it and thankfully he came here and won. I think there might be another handicap in him in both codes.

"He could go to Listowel for a flat maiden, he has enough gears for that as well."

FRONT-RUNNER

Delegate (5/1) made most of the running as he upset the well-fancied Roconga in the Darcy Contract Cleaning Services Beginners Chase.

Edward O'Grady's charge was sent off a warm 8/11 favourite for the opener and despite looming large under Barry Geraghty, he couldn't get past the long-time leader who kept pulling out a little more to score with two and a half lengths to spare.

Geraghty had better luck in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Beginners Chase as he landed the odds on Dont Kick Nor Bite (9/10), who was kept up to his work all the way to the line by 50/1 outsider Drumlosh Sallie on his way to a two-and-a-half-length triumph.

Neddyvaughan had to dig deep to justify 3/1 favouritism in the Sligo Park Hotel Handicap Chase.

Christy Roche's six-year-old looked set for a comfortable success when cruising upsides Allied Victory turning for home, but the latter refused to go down without a fight after being headed at the last and made Jodie McGarvey's mount really work for his length-and-a-half victory.

Tiliver put in a fine round of jump as he ran out a cosy winner of the Kilcawley Construction Rated Chase for Alan Fleming.

Always travelling well for Paul Townend, the 4/1 shot made smooth progress into the lead approaching the final fence and eased clear on the run in to cross the line seven and a half lengths to the good from Caniwillyegiveme.

Dorkas (11/1) stole a march as they swung for home as she took the concluding Glasshouse Hotel Handicap Chase by a length and three-quarters from the fast-finishing Doolough Lad.
