LAGANORE produced a stunning display to land the Group 3 Denny Cordell Lavarack & Lanwades Stud Fillies Stakes at Gowran Park.

Colin Keane was happy to watch the race unfold from the rear of the field on the 7/2 joint-favourite and was still travelling supremely well two furlongs out as Keane picked a path past beaten rivals.

After easing alongside I'm So Fancy approaching the final furlong, it was simply a case of how far Laganore wanted to win by and, after being given her office by Keane, she stretched to a two-length success.

Trainer Tony Martin said: "She's been very good. Luck just didn't go her way but she's a right good mare and for the boys who own her she's worth a right few pounds now as a broodmare so it's worked out grand.

"She's been promising to do that for an age. She loves that ground and that's what Colin said. She's in good order and you couldn't be happier with her.

"I'll have a chat to the owner now and see what he says but today was important. We were a long time waiting all year.

"I couldn't see her staying in training next year as they'll want to breed from her. I doubt it very much but I'll chat with Maurice and see what he says but I doubt it.

"To get today out of the way was the really important thing and we'll see were we go. You'd be happy with her after that and there is not too much more we can do with her now."

Keane completed a double when Erratic Path (5/1) ran away with the nine and a half-furlong Live Music After Racing Maiden. The Ger Lyons-trained gelding, who was running for just the third time, won by seven lengths.

DOUBLES

Jessica Harrington and Shane Foley enjoyed a double, culminating in Gymkhana's battling success in the Gowran Park race.

The 8/1 chance was one of a number of contenders in touching distance of the lead at the two-furlong pole, and headed into a clear lead a furlong from home.

Favourite Sorelle Delle Rose tried to keep on terms with Harrington's charge, but Gymkhana would not be denied and boxed on well to score by three-quarters of a length.

The double started when The King showed the benefit of his debut fifth at the Curragh when bounding to victory in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden.

Newcomer Imaging looked to be getting on top of things when leading in the final furlong, but Shane Foley found another gear on Jessica Harrington's 7/2 chance and he streaked away to score by three and a quarter lengths.

Harrington said: "He was very good. He was very green and Shane said he got himself into a place he didn't want to be because they'd gone very steady, but he was good when he pulled him out.

"He really quickened up well, he quickened up like a good horse. He's going to be a nice staying horse.

"We've always thought he was nice and he is in the Irish Guineas and the Derby. He's got a few good entries. We've been waiting all year for him. He's won now and we'll wait and see."

BOLTED UP

Moghamarah positively bolted up to open her account in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden.

Chris Hayes was happy to track the early pacesetter on the 7/4 favourite, before striking for home over two furlongs out. Kevin Prendergast's filly, who had finished second on both previous starts, soon put clear daylight between herself and the rest, eventually coming home six and a half lengths in front of Raynama.

Prendergast said: "She won well. She was a bit unlucky Galway as she was drawn very wide and got knocked about a good bit. She probably should have won.

"I'll see what the boss (owner Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum) says but I don't think we'll run her any more (this year). We'll keep her and probably run her in the Guineas trial at Leopardstown or something like that."
