Penhill has a nice future in this game if his successful jumping debut in a maiden hurdle at Tramore on Wednesday is anything to go by.

Willie Mullins' 4-11 favourite is rated 100 on the level and that quality shone through as he cruised to a length-and-a-half defeat of Nikki Steel.

His jockey Paul Townend said: "He did it nicely. There is plenty to work on, I'd say, with his jumping. As the race went on he jumped better.

"He was a nice Flat horse and we'll have a bit of fun with him.

"He was a stayer on the Flat, I'd say he'd have no problem going a bit further. He seems to have a bit of boot as well.

"He looked to want slow ground on the Flat but he seemed to handle that well, it's quick out there."

Unic De Bersy put his best foot forward in the Waterford & Tramore Racecourse Members Club Chase.

The 13-8 favourite had a string of letters next to his name but put in a clear round here and showed decent resolution on the run to the line to see off Cliffside Park by three lengths.

Le Vagabond was too strong for his rivals in the Waterford & Tramore Hurdle.

The 9-10 favourite shot through a gap against the rails to take up the running two out and Andrew Lynch didn't have to get too serious for him to pass the post with five and a half lengths in hand of Ciao Cielo.

Most Honourable (8-1) flopped at Down Royal on Monday but banished that to the memory with a determined triumph in the Follow tramoreraces On Twitter Handicap Hurdle.

That initiated a brace for jockey Rachael Blackmore, who was seen to good effect in the www.tramore-racecourse.com Handicap Hurdle to get Oisin James (6-1) home ahead of Urtheoneiwant.

Final Gift (100-30) landed the Waterford & Tramore Racecourse Directors Handicap Chase, and Smitty Bacall (10-1) took the Tramore (C & G) Flat Race.
