RIBCHESTER will stand at Kildangan Stud next year at a fee of €30,000. A limited number of breeding rights are available in the son of Iffraaj.

Winner of the Prix Jacques le Marois last season, Ribchester has notched up a hat-trick of Group 1 victories this year, landing the Lockinge in May before breaking the track record in the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot and adding the Prix du Moulin to his tally in September.

Trained by Richard Fahey, he finished second in the QEII at Ascot last Saturday and is on course to run in the Breeders’ Cup Mile next Saturday.

After the four-year-old breezed well on the trainer’s Malton gallops on Thursday, Fahey said: “He has kept his coat, he looks a picture, and clearly, he wants to go. He has done everything but tell me himself that he should be on the plane to California. I’m very happy with him. He’s in great order.”

Ribchester has further links to Darley through his female family – he is the highest-rated horse descended from Fall Aspen after Dubai Millennium.

IFFRAAJ

Ribchester’s sire Iffraaj will stand for £40,000 (up from £27,500) in 2018 at Dalham Hall Stud. Iffraaj has sired three Group 1 winners of seven Group 1 races this year, including the Australasian classic winners Gingernuts and Jon Snow.

Joining Ribchester as a new recruit to Kildangan Stud is Profitable, the Group 1-winning son of Invincible Spirit. The King’s Stand Stakes winner will stand for €12,000.

The fee for Darley’s top sire Dubawi will remain unchanged at £250,000.

Dubawi is joined on the roster at Dalham Hall Stud by three of his sons: four-time Group 1 winner Postponed (£20,000), the 2000 Guineas victor Night Of Thunder (£15,000, was €25,000 at Kildangan) and Poet’s Voice (£6,000 from £8,000).

Slade Power’s fee drops from €20,000 to €15,000 and Fast Company sees his fee rise to €9,000 (from €7,000). He had had seven stakes winners worldwide, including Group 3 Ballyogan Stakes winner Penny Pepper.

New to Darley’s Haras du Logis in 2018 is French champion juvenile Ultra who will stand for €7,000, the same fee commanded by his Group 1 sire Manduro.

Authorized, the highest-rated Derby winner from the Montjeu line, will stand for €12,000 (was €10,000).
