NOEL O’Callaghan’s Mountarmstrong Stud had a good week at Tattersalls and the Co Tipperary will soon be welcoming a new broodmare through the gates following news that No Speak Alexander has been retired from racing.
The Jessica Harrington-trained Group 1 Matron Stakes winner was also third in the Irish 1000 Guineas in May.
By the Invincible Spirit horse Shalaa, out of a Dandy Man mare, she made her final racecourse appearance when sixth in last Saturday’s Kingdom Of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket.
Harrington confirmed the three-year-old’s retirement via Twitter on Wednesday.
She posted: “No Speak Alexander headed off to her retirement yesterday … best of luck for the future, we look forward to your progeny.”
