TODAY’S Naas fixture hinges on a 7.30am precautionary inspection. The going was reported as soft (hurdle and bumper) and soft to heavy (chase) on Friday but there was a threat of snow and ice overnight.

Should racing be cancelled, the meeting will move to next Tuesday, February 16th. Original entries will stand and fresh declarations must be made by 10am on Sunday.

Sunday’s meeting at Punchestown looks reasonably safe as temperatures are set to rise, though it is forecast to be a very wet and windy day.

There is no jumps racing in Britain today. The Betfair Hurdle fixture at Newbury has been put back to Sunday, February 21st, while Warwick’s meeting, featuring the Kingmaker Novices’ Chase, has been moved to Monday.
