The 1000 Guineas winner Legatissimo and recent Naas Group 3 winner Pleascach are among seven second-entries for the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby. The two fillies are trained by David Wachman and Jim Bolger respectively.

Legatissimo is said to be on course to run in the Epsom Oaks. Were she to win at Epsom she could try to emulate Salsabil who also won classics at Newmarket and Epsom before winning the 1990 Irish Derby. Balanchine was beaten by a short-head in the 1000 Guineas in 1994 prior to winning the Epsom Oaks and Irish Derby.

A total of eight three-year-olds were added to the Irish Derby on Wednesday, each at a cost of €12,500. As expected the Ken Condon-trained colt Success Days is among the additions. The grey colt won both the Ballysax Stakes and Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial at Leopardstown this season.

Other interesting second-entries include Dante Stakes runner-up Jack Hobbs and French Group 1 winner Epicuris.
