FIVE Irish-trained horses are among 15 from Europe running at Arlington Park in Chicago this evening. All four international races on the card will be shown live on At The Races and Racing UK.
The stakes action kicks off at 9.42pm when Panama Hat represents Andy Oliver, Chris Hayes and Team Valor in the Grade 3 American St Leger. Highland Reel (Aidan O’Brien) runs in the Grade 1 Secretariat Stakes, a race won by Adelaide last year. Seamie Heffernan rides the recent Goodwood winner who carries just 8st 9lb.
Carla Bianca (Dermot Weld/Pat Smullen) and Wedding Vow (Aidan O’Brien/Colm O’Donoghue) look to hold strong claims in the Grade 1 Beverly D, a race in which the Marco Botti-trained Euro Charline will be attempting a repeat win. Then at 11.48pm the David Marnane-trained Elleval (Pat Smullen) is the sole Irish runner in the Grade 1 Arlington Million.
