RACE trustees hosted a retirement lunch for Margaret Davin to mark her stepping down from the role of Horse Racing Ireland’s Chief Financial Officer in October.

It was an opportunity to acknowledge her support and assistance for the Academy over many years as a member of our Finance Committee.

Trustees Michael Dowling, Stan Cosgrove and Joe Osborne were on hand, along with RACE management, to present a framed print from a specially-commissioned painting which is on display in the RACE oratory.

Created by artist Donal Murray, it depicts the story of the Academy in a tableau which includes racing scenes, local landmarks and the leading out of the first apprentice by founding Director Derek O’Sullivan.

We hope it is a fitting reminder to Margaret of her involvement over the years as we wish her well in the next chapter of her life.
