THERE are 26 point-to-point fixtures scheduled for this autumn, just one less than last year.

The autumn season usually starts on the final weekend of September but this year it kicks off a week later, on Saturday, October 7th, when the Mid-Antrims race at Toomebridge.

There are at least two meetings each weekend up until the closing date of Sunday, December 10th, when there are three fixtures scheduled.

Denise O’Neill of the Turf Club commented: “We recently held our annual meeting with the point-to-point stakeholders and there are no major changes planned for next season at this stage. The first meeting scheduled last autumn was the Limerick Foxhounds but they applied for a mid-October date this year which suits them better. Overall the autumn list looks balanced.”
