THE very successful Irish Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association Next Generation Apprenticeship Scheme is entering its eighth year.
It’s a well established platform for young breeding and racing enthusiasts to enter the Irish bloodstock industry.
Two candidates will be selected over the coming weeks to work in three key areas of the industry over a 12-month period. The apprenticeship will be divided into the following three semesters:
Throughout each semester, apprentices will be assigned relevant projects which will be graded by the ITBA. Each employer will be required to appraise their apprentice throughout the relevant semester and submit a report to the ITBA at the end of the period.
Each apprentice will be required to write an article for The Irish Field during each semester, designed to give exposure to both apprentice and employer.
Applications for the scheme should be submitted to the ITBA offices before close of business on Friday, June 30th. Application forms can be downloaded from the ITBA website.
