FOLLOWING Cobra 18’s untimely death on April 5th as a result of a bout of colic, Kim Wade has been appointed as agent for the Republic of Ireland to manage the sale and allocation of the remaining semen of the eye-catching bay Westphalian stallion.

The sire of top international show jumper Dublin (12), the vast majority of Cobra 18’s progeny are still under four years old.

Kim has a world of experience with top-class performance stallions, having worked with The Stallion Company for the past four years, running their EU insemination centre in Co Meath, before recently going out on her own to form Kim Wade Stallions.

Kim has also worked with Ballywalter Farms standing Romanov, Ludger Beerbaum standing Coupe de Coeur and Norbert Boley (director of breeding at Holsteiner Verbrand) standing Avalon 224, to name just a few.

Wade commented: “I am passionate about sport horse breeding and this new collaboration with Tony Noble and his proven stallion Cobra 18 is a hugely exciting venture for me.

“Seeing Cobra 18’s youngstock and some of his older stock like Dublin jumping at the highest level, this is dream job to promote a stallion of his credentials.”

The stallion’s owner, Tony Noble, added: “Cobra 18 was a wonderful horse with a fantastic temperament and superb genetics. It’s extremely important to me that his remaining semen is managed in the best way possible and that only the best mares are chosen for his remaining coverings. Few people are more passionate about breeding than Kim, nor more knowledgeable and I am looking forward to working with her to help manage Cobra 18’s legacy.”
