LAST weekend the 38th BFBA International Team Horseshoeing Championships took place at Stoneleigh Park in England.
Fariers from 18 countries, including Ireland, America and New Zealand were there to compete for the overall team title. Last year both Ireland’s apprentice and master farrier teams had great success, finishing fifth and seventh respectively in their team categories. This year team manager Alwyn McKeown (AWCF) had both his master and apprentice teams in top form and was confident that his teams could better last year’s results.
And that they did, Team Ireland finished third in the shoeing class and fourth in the gas shoemaking class. Ireland’s James Woods was also awarded for the best dressed foot for the second year in a row.
Team Ireland are sponsored by TRM Ireland, Dennison Trailers and Crossan Farrier Supplies. Congratulations to all involved.
