Industry experience at the core of Ballinroe International Horse Transport

BALLINROE International Horse Transport has been transporting horses for the past 30 years. Each year they strive to improve their facilities, fleet and the way in which they run their business.

Ballinroe update their trucks annually to ensure they have the ability to offer customers and their horses the most modern and safe horse boxes that are built to the highest specification, with the safety and comfort of your horses in mind at all times.

All horse boxes are power washed and disinfected after each journey to reduce the risk of disease spreading. The health and safety of the horses they transport is of the utmost importance to them. Ballinroe’s main routes are between Ireland, Britain and France.

At this time of the year their main focus is on the breeding season and transporting mares and foals from Ireland to Britain and France. The mare and her foal travel together in a big loose box which is bedded down heavily, so it is not much different to being in their stable for the night.

Short routes

Their main aim with every trip is to keep travel times as short as possible. This is extremely important especially when travelling overseas to ensure the comfort of the horses at all times and to avoid horses getting sick in transit.

During the breeding season they are also kept busy transporting horses for breeze up and National Hunt store sales.

From August to December, Ballinroe’s main business will be transporting horses to and from yearling and breeding stock sales.

The movement of horses has increased in Ireland over the past 10 years and Ballinroe have continued to grow with it to meet the demands of the industry.

The excellent staff at Ballinroe are so important to the success of the business, with a great team of people working for them.

The team is small and friendly and customer service is one of their main priorities. The team consists of three office workers and 24 full-time drivers.

Ballinroe has built up a great base of customers over the years and hope to continue to grow and build on this.
