The education and training strategy for the Irish Racing Industry has come in response to the HRI strategic plan for 2024 – 2028, which has called for a renewed commitment to education and training for the Irish racing industry.

This strategy aims to have the following key outcomes:

  • Deliver increased participation in education and training programmes.
  • Improved skill levels across all areas of the thoroughbred racing industry
  • Better career opportunities for industry professionals.

    • The formation of the National Equine Campus is a key to part of the education and training strategy as it will form the base from which education and training to be designed and delivered nationwide.

    The education strategy is ambitious and aims to provide training across all aspects of the racing industry at all levels of the sector.

    The education and training on offer will span from short upskilling courses right through to certified courses where participants will have the opportunity to get certified in courses from Level 4 to Level 8 degree.

    The aim is to build upon the current education and training on offer from RACE and HRI Equuip. The future of education and training for the racing industry in Ireland is looking bright and full of possibility.
