CAMROSA Ointment is a very dense water-repellent formulation acting as a barrier. It is used worldwide for many skin problems, especially on cracks and sores in the heels and for resolving fixed scabs on the legs.
As it is a barrier - rain does not remove it - it effectively protects skin against external traumas: rain, pollution, mud, flies and midges. It promotes the natural healing process and hair regrowth.
At Camrosa we believe that the current, heavily polluted atmosphere, with a cocktail of chemicals, results in equally heavily polluted rain and mud, which is the cause of all year round skin problems for horses rather than just over the winter months, classed as mud fever.
We have customer feedback constantly, and Jessica Harrington cannot speak more highly about the successful results she has seen with sore heels and mud rash. James Kelly, Linacre House Stud says: “We use this product on bad hooves and skin problems and it is amazing; you get what you pay for”. These are only two of the many satisfied Camrosa customers.
BENEFITS
Camrosa Ointment is important for hoofcare - “No foot, no horse”. Our trials showed that hoof trimmings with Camrosa applied maintained their shape for months, whereas those without the ointment application dried out and shrivelled within 24 hours, as did trimmings with basic hoof oil applied.
The ointment acts as an effective water-repellent barrier, maintaining the hoof’s natural moisture, thus avoiding dry, cracked, brittle hooves, and shoe loss.
Its water-repellent properties also maintain strong hooves in very wet conditions, which can otherwise result in weak, soft hooves that may absorb damaging bacteria from the ground, entering through nail holes and cracks, causing fungal conditions. Camrosa Ointment therefore protects and maintains healthy hooves, and daily massage of the coronet promotes growth of healthy horn.
Finally, spring is the start of intense irritation on those horses allergic to midges, causing mane and tail hair loss and, in severe cases, loss of hair on the belly, groin and face. Harvest mites occur around August affecting heels and muzzles. The ointment is an effective barrier to both, promoting healing of damaged skin.
Our director, Edwina Le May, who formulated this product in the early 1980s, is available to give advice if needed, including out of office hours and weekends.
