THE ISPCA has created the Home Forever programme to make sure that your pet will be looked after in the instance that you become incapacitated, move into residential care or pass away.

Home Forever can offer you the peace of mind that there can still be a bright future ahead for your beloved pet. The ISPCA will be on hand to look after your pet and will do all they can to find your pet a new and loving home. Becoming a member of the Home Forever Programme is simple:

  • Advise your solicitor/family of your wishes.
  • Inform the ISPCA that you want to become a member of the Home Forever programme.
  • Complete the registration form and return to the ISPCA.
  • The ISPCA will then register your membership on the database and send you a card for your wallet. The card should be kept in your wallet or purse at all times.
  • You should detail on the card the name of the individual to be contacted if you become incapacitated, move into residential care or pass away.
  • HOW THE PROGRAMME WORKS

Once you have added the ISPCA Home Forever into your will, your executor will know to contact them should anything happen to you.

However, it is also recommend that you tell your family, friends and neighbours that you want the ISPCA to take in your pets in the event of your death.

Once the ISPCA have been informed that a Home Forever member has become incapacitated, moved into residential care or has passed away, they will arrange for your pet(s) to come into their care. The ISPCA will then do all they can to ensure your pets are very well cared for by their trained and dedicated staff. Once vet checked, they will then search to find them loving new homes in line with rehoming policies and procedures. The ISPCA carry out home checks on all potential new pet owners and if approved, your pet(s) will be adopted to become part of a new family. The ISPCA follow up with a post-adoption check to make sure the pet(s) is settling in well.
