JUNIOR Academy days for 2020 will commence in February, with fresh applications flooding in every day. Junior academy is a one-day course for 10-16 year olds, of all levels of experience who share a love of horses.

The aim of the course is to get a taster of what it’s like to be a trainee jockey for the day and have an all-round fun filled experience. Last year’s junior academy days were hugely successful with many of our young attendees getting the opportunity to meet some high-profile Jockeys and trainers including Willie Mullins, Ruby Walsh, Paul Townend, Rachael Blackmore and Shane Foley, to name a few. Places are limited so we advise applications are sent in early to avoid disappointment.

Open days for the 10-month residential trainee jockey course 2020 will begin on Wednesday, February 5th and will continue on the following dates February 19th, 26th, March 11th, 25th, April 8th, 15th, 29th, May 13th with the final open day taking place on May 20th.

RACE hopes to run an extended exercise rider course this summer. The course is for people who have some equine experience but are looking for an introduction into the horse racing industry and need tuition riding racehorses.
